Ending SooN!
As I took an urgent leave to settle some uni stuffs yesterday, I know that my army life is coming to an end soon. On 7th August 2006, I will be surrendering my green IC, and changed it with the pink one, which have been held by MINDEF for two long years. My status will also be changed from a National Slave to a uni student, the one who enters the lecture 15 mins after it commenced, instead of the one who unhappily enters the camp gate on the dot everyday for first parade. Hence, I will also be worrying about projects, tests, examinations, instead of worrying about signing any extras. *Laughs*
I would describe my army life as a cup of cocktail. A depressant, that makes one sick at times, but relax on the other hand. Sorrow, hatred, fcuk, whatever "curse and swear" word one can think of, Singapore guys would have used them to descibe their army life before. Yeah, two years of rules and regulation isn't an easy period to endure and follow, however with the laughters and happiness I gained with my campmates, I'm proud to say that all sorrows and hardships have been neutralized.
The happiest moments I had in army would be the BMT period and the on course training months. Whereby good soulmates are meet, lifelong friends to be kept. Eugene, Vincent, Kok Leong, Zen, Paul, just to name a few, have spiced up my dull green life with other colours.
As I viewed through the photos I took over the two years, I felt really relieved that its ending real soon... But yet, a little worried that the life journey after army would be even more difficult to walk. To put it simple, growing up isn't easy nor that great... Its about decision making, career planning, something that still makes my head twice its size whenever I think about it...
